TURKEY DINNER  

The Turkey Dinner is being held on Saturday, November 20, 2010 from 4:30 to 7:00 P.M.   Tickets are now available - $15 for Adults and $6 for children 12 and under – call the church office at 416-439-8623.  Tickets will also be available Sunday after service.

There will also be an Arts and Crafts Show upstairs.

It’s a Party!

Set aside the evening of Saturday, Sept. 11 at 6:00 to party at St. Mark’s!  The occasion is to welcome our new ministry personnel and their families.  There will be a BBQ dinner and lots of time to visit with each other and with Paul, Sharon, Sarah & Karen Hutchison and with Jeffrey Dale.

The Storefront is a Scarborough collaborative of more than 38 agencies and community groups.  Their Mission is:  "We are a partnership of community members and services working together to create a thriving community in East Scarborough. We do this by acting as bridges between people, services and communities, working together in safe, welcoming and accessible environments, nurturing diversity and harmony and exploring possibilities."  You can read more at http://www.thestorefront.org/ .

Pepsi Co. is offering a $100,000 grant to an organization that is working to have a positive iimpact on their community.  Toronto East Scarborough Storefront has submitted a request.  So - go here: http://www.refresheverything.ca/communitydesigninitiative   You can register & then vote every day until the end of August.

SUMMER SERVICES

Summer services will begin at 10:00 AM

*** TORONTO CONFERENCE INTER-PRESBYTERY YOUTH EVENT ***

 Living Waters Presbytery will be hosting an Inter-Presbytery Youth Event 
which will coincide with the Toronto Conference Annual Meeting 
being held at St. Paul's United Church in Orillia May 28-30, 2010.
There will be two programs.

The Young Youth program is for participants in grades 7 and 8.
The Youth program is for participants in grade 9 to age 19. 
The program for Youth Forum is a mix of time together in community and as a part of the larger court. 
Youth and Young Youth will be involved in worship, music, recreation, table groups, 
plus their own parallel program of discussion, crafts, games, Bible study, drama, and MORE!
The Youth and Young Youth will have time together
as well as time in their own age groups.

On Saturday, June 5th from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

There will be a BBQ, hot dogs, etc.

Seed to Table Co-coordinator

Seed to table is a dynamic new youth-centered food security initiative launching in East Scarborough this spring. The program brings together food education, cooking and gardening skills and leadership training to fuel a youth-led food movement in the city.

We are looking for a co-coordinator to assist with program development and implementation during a 4+ month position, from the end of April until the beginning of September, with the potential for extension. The position is for 25 hours/wk at $12-15/hr depending on funding and the qualifications of the applicant.   APPLICATION DEADLINE APRIL 9th 2010

ANNUAL CONGREGATIONAL MEETING FOR FINANCES

This Sunday, February 14, 2010, following Sunday service, there will an Annual Congregational Meeting for finances.

At this meeting we will be asked to accept the financial statements for 2009 and receive the 2010 Budget.

Please join us for lunch before the meeting, with thanks to the Social Ministry Team.
