This Sunday – December 2, 2012

This week, December 4th, is the first Sunday in Advent - Hope.   The service begins at 11:00 P.M., with refreshments and fellowship at 10:30 A.M.   

WHITE RIBBON CAMPAIGN

This Sunday we will take time to recognize December 6th the day of action to fight violence against women. We will also be providing white ribbons from the White Ribbon Campaign, white ribbon.ca, for a donation to the campaign.

The red ribbons are still available from last Sunday, with funds going to ACT, AIDS Committee of Toronto.

This Sunday, November 25th, Glen Greenwood will lead the service, which begins at 11:00 P.M., with refreshments and fellowship at 10:30 A.M.   Please bring your responses to the Visioning Questions that were provided at last Sunday’s service. 

SUNDAY SERVICE

This Sunday, November 18th, the service will focus on the future Vision of St. Mark’s.  The service begins at 11:00 P.M., with refreshments and fellowship at 10:30 A.M.   We look forward to seeing you then.

SUNDAY SERVICE - Oct 21st

This Sunday, October 21st, St. Mark’s celebrates its 54th Anniversary.  At this service we present the Anniversary Awards to members “who reflect the heart and soul of St. Mark’s”.   The service is at 11:00 AM with refreshments and fellowship at 10:30 A.M.  We look forward to seeing you then.

It’s almost time for the 2014 GST Auction!  Mark Oct 18th on your calendars -  dinner at 5:30 ($10) with the auction starting at 7:00.

This is a major fundraiser for the congregation and a wonderful social event for all.

Open call for singers!


Love singing? Share your talents and make a joyful noise each week with the St. Mark's choir. Join us this September for a series of rehearsals to get acquainted, sing some favourites and learn something new.

Sunday, Sept 9 at 10:00am - Getting to know you, Part 1
An opportunity to meet with one another and sing some well-known and well-loved hymns. Be prepared to suggest a favourite hymn from Voices United or More Voices.

Sunday, Sept 16 at 10:00am - Getting to know you, Part 2
An opportunity to meet with one another and sing some well-known and well-loved hymns. Be prepared to suggest a favourite hymn from Voices United or More Voices.

Sunday, Sept 23 at 9:30am - Music reading session
An informal opportunity to take a look at some choral anthems and arrangements, (perhaps even a couple for the Advent/Christmas season!

THIS SUNDAY WE CELEBRATE CANADA DAY AND THE PRIDE FESTIVAL  (July 1st)

Summer Sunday services in the summer are held at 10:00 AM for about 45 minutes.

These services are casual and relaxed.

LEXI’S TRIP TO KENYA

Lexi Salt is doing a presentation about her trip to Kenya this past summer, as a small token of her appreciation to everyone at St. Mark’s who supported her to get there.  It will be an hour-long Power Point presentation (with pictures) on Tuesday, June 26 at 2pm and again at 7pm.

This is also a voluntary fundraiser towards Lexi’s Clean Water Project (to build a well in Kenya).  It should be an enlightening and enjoyable evening.  Hope to see you all in attendance!

PICKERING ARTFEST

She will be showing and selling her artwork at the Pickering "Artfest on the Esplanade", Saturday, May 26, 2012, from 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. at Esplanade Park, Pickering, ON.   Please spread the word.   Esplanade Park is located behind Pickering City Hall, which is across the street, east of Pickering Town Centre Mall.

This is a seed project for Susan and 10% of her sales will be coming to St. Mark’s.

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!

THIS SUNDAY

This week (May 13th) is the 6th Sunday in Easter Services are at 11:00 A.M. with refreshment and fellowship at 10:30 A.M.    This is also the Sunday we celebrate Mother’s Day.   The Social Team will be providing the refreshments at the 10:30 Coffee time.

If you have anyone you would like to have remembered during Prayers of the Congregation, please write them in the Book of Prayers at the back of the Sanctuary.
