PHILIPPINES STRUCK BY SUPER TYPHOON

A super typhoon, internationally code named Haiyan, has blasted the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines and other parts of the country.

United Church staff are in touch with Filipino partners and are closely monitoring the situation as damage reports are released.

At this time, donations from United Church members across Canada for “Typhoon Haiyan Relief”  are welcome.  We are also calling for prayers.

As early as possible this week the information on the situation in the Philippines will be updated on the General Council Office website.

The United Church welcomes donations for typhoon relief in Philippines. Donations received and designated "Typhoon Haiyan Relief" will be applied directly to support United Church partners and ACT Alliance in this work.
