SUMMER FOOD BANK DONATIONS
On behalf of the Outreach Ministry Team, I would like to thank the congregation for the very generous food and financial gifts throughout the summer. Our Can-A-Day Food Drive was a success as it had surpassed non-perishable foods collected last summer. In addition to this, the Outreach Team, during the summer months, provided quality food products to the food bank such as 300 boxes of dry cereal, 300 litres of 2% bag milk, and over 300 boxes of Kraft Dinner. St. Mark’s commitment to help those less fortunate was sincerely and greatly appreciated. The community with its growing daily food needs and the school breakfast programs puts a high increase in demand for food products. Donations of food are always down at this time of year and the food bank looks forward to our commitment to those less fortunate.
Our donations provided, in each case, food items to 300 families throughout the summer. We are truly blessed and have the opportunity to share with those less fortunate and to make improvements in our neighbourhood.
IT’S BACK TO SCHOOL!!!!
St. Mark’s United Church, through its Outreach Ministry, showed hope, goodwill & generosity by arranging to deliver over 12 Back Packs to the principal at G B Little P.S. In actual fact, St. Mark’s, through its generosity, will provide 22 completed Back Packs on Tuesday, September 9th. The principal is once again delighted by St. Mark’s support, which will enable children to be ready with supplies needed to start their school year. St Mark’s continues to make a difference in our community for those who are less fortunate. Well done everyone!!!
The Summer MEMO is now available [here].
Many thanks to Trevor White who has edited the St. Mark's newsletter for the last three years! This has been a wonderful contribution to the ministry of our community of faith.
